Timothy Lanigan
of Ayr, Ontario, started singing with the Cambridge Kiwanis Boys’ Choir in 2001 at the age of 10. With this group he toured England in 2003, singing solos in five cathedrals. Last spring, Timothy won first place in all three of his entries in the Waterloo Region Kiwanis Music Festival. In May of 2003 he presented his first full length solo concert to benefit World Vision where he raised over $3,000.
In November 2003, he filled his first professional solo engagement singing in Mendelssohn’s Elijah with the KW Philharmonic Choir and the KW Symphony Orchestra conducted by Howard Dyck. In February 2005, Timothy placed first in the Kiwanis Music Festival of Greater Toronto . A similar round of successes followed at the Waterloo Region Kiwanis Festival where, competing with students at the university level, the young singer won a second place and a scholarship.
In June of 2005 Timothy was featured as a guest soloist in performances in Kitchener and Toronto of the Lord of the Rings Symphony. His debut appearance in Roy Thompson Hall elicited a strong critical review in the Toronto Star where he was hailed as “the Star of the show”. He has also been in steady demand for a variety of solo engagements for weddings and other musical and church organizations where his musical maturity and warmly lyrical voice have won many admirers.
Timothy is studying voice and piano with Eric Dewdney and is a grade 9 student at Christ Lutheran School in Kitchener.

Since I was very young, I have loved music in general, but especially singing. When I was 10 years old, I joined the Cambridge Kiwanis Boys’ Choir. With the choir, I toured England and the Maritimes. I grew up in a family of seven children in Ayr, Ontario. We are all musically inclined in different ways, and my family encourages me along, but my greatest motivation comes from God. He gave me a voice so I use it for His glory. He inspires and encourages me. I am not quite sure of my future at the moment, but I do plan to pursue music.
This CD took a lot of effort and many people deserve thanks. First I’d like to thank my producer Earl McCluskie, and composer Barrie Cabena for giving us a wonderful piece for the CD entitled “And There Was Morning.” Special thanks goes to all the musicians who contributed to the CD, Todd, David, Dan, Kevin, Cathy, Tony and Synergy. My greatest thanks goes to three people: both my parents for their love and support, especially my mom for sitting in on recording sessions and for being my chauffeur, and Eric Dewdney, my coach, for his dedication and effort in training me and all the other behind the scenes work. Thank you everyone.
